Passionate about cinema and storytelling, Santiago Zannou studied in Barcelona at the Centre d’Estudis Cinematografics de Catalunya (CECC) where he directed several short films, among them «Cara Sucia», nominated for the Goya Award for Best Short Film. His first feature film, «El Truco del Manco» (2008) won three Goyas. In 2009 he directed the documentary «El Alma de la Roja», on the occasion of the centenary of the Spanish Football Federation. In November 2011 he shot the documentary «La Puerta de no Retorno». His feature film, «Alacrán enamorado», with Javier Bardem, is the adaptation of the novel written by Carlos Bardem and was nominated for four Goyas. In 2017 he was listed in the Gunn Report as 7th most awarded director. He has directed several advertising commercials, including the two multi awarded Lottery christmas campaigns: El Bar de Antonio and Carmina.
Santiago is a professor of Cinematography, Directing and Acting.
